Your First Visit
Welcome! We are very excited that you are interested in taking steps to live a healthier and longer life. Whether your goal is accountability to make better eating choices, or to learn more about the right foods to fuel your body and improve your current health we have all the tools to help get you started right away.
In our initial nutritional counseling session, we spend up to 90 minutes with you and take a deep look at your health history, current conditions/symptoms and dive into understanding the individual factors that are impacting your nutritional habits and overall health (i.e. sleep, exercise, mindset etc.).
We will review medications, supplements, medical and personal history that relate to your goals and needs. We also can request blood work to dig deep into what your body is lacking in or needs specifically. You can also choose to do body composition and/or measurements (in person or on your own at home) as well. This is at no cost to you and is never required. We work together to create specific sustainable habits and nutritional strategies that provide a long term solution to improved health.
What to Expect
First, we highly suggest calling your insurance company to verify the type of coverage you have
for preventative nutritional counseling. Please visit our insurance verification tab for a calling sheet
of questions to ask when you speak to your insurance company.
As a reminder, any quotes on insurance coverage is not a guarantee of insurance payment
— unpaid claims are the responsibility of the patient.
Next, when you book an appointment with us, you will receive a confirmation email and a link to your patient portal Healthie. Please fill out the electronic onboarding paperwork prior to your appointment. This will include general demographic information, your insurance information (please provide a photo front and back of your card), our cancellation policy, pricing sheet, and a credit card which secures your appointment day and time.
Initial individual sessions are 60 to 90 minutes in length, group/couple sessions can be up to 2 hours and follow up appointments are generally 30-80 minutes.
You are always welcome to contact us with any questions at of course no charge. However, you might need added accountability in between or outside of our sessions. If you need to check in more regularly through emails or messages or review your food logs (if applicable) then we provide additional self pay packages for this service. This is not covered by your insurance and is an additional cost. This is for those who need more accountability around your day to day nutrition decisions.
You can upload any documents or photos that you feel are important to your health within your Healthie patient portal. You can upload documents like food logs, supplement/medication photos, and lab work results.
At our first session we will create a plan or focus areas to accomplish prior to our next follow up meeting. Follow ups frequency is scheduled based on your goals and accountability needs. Generally, this is weekly for the first month and then spaced out as you begin to need less accountability.
Please use your Healthie patient portal to communicate with us via chat. We highly encourage you to use only the messenger feature to ask questions relating to your care. It is the most secure way to communicate and transfer information and is for your privacy.
Please always double check the location of where we are meeting. You can check your meeting location, schedule or reschedule visits by logging into your Healthie patient portal.
We ask for more than 24 hrs if you wish or need to cancel/reschedule your appointment - otherwise a no-show fee ($40) or late cancellation fee ($25) will apply.
