Your First Visit

We are excited that you are interested in taking steps to live a healthier and longer life. Whether your goal is accountability to make better eating choices, or to learn more about the right foods to fuel your body and improve your current health we have all the tools to help get you started right away.

What to Expect

First, we highly suggest calling your insurance company to verify the type of coverage you have for preventative nutritional counseling. Visit our insurance verification tab for a calling sheet of questions to ask when you call. Any quotes on insurance coverage is NOT a guarantee of insurance payment— unpaid claims are your responsibility.

Next, when you book an appointment you will receive a confirmation email and a link to your patient portal. Please fill out the electronic paperwork prior to your appointment. This will include general demographic information, your insurance information (please provide a photo front and back of your card), our cancellation policy, pricing sheet, and a credit card which secures your appointment time.

Here is some additional information about what to expect:

  • Initial individual sessions are 75 to 90 minutes in length, group sessions can be up to 2 hours and follow up appointments are generally 45minutes.

  • If you feel you need added accountability in between or outside of our in person sessions. You are always welcome to contact me with any questions, but if you would like me to check in with you regularly through emails or messages or review your food logs (if applicable). This is not covered by your insurance and is an additional cost. This is an accountability add on services if you feel you need someone watching you a little closer on some of your day to day nutrition decisions.

  • We will review medications, supplements, medical and personal history that relate to your goals. Please be prepared to have this information available at our visit or upload any documents or photos into your client portal.

  •  At our first session we will create a plan or focus areas to accomplish prior to our next follow up meeting. Follow ups frequency is scheduled based on your goals and accountability needs. Generally, this is weekly for the first month then spaced out as you begin to need less accountability.

  • You can choose to do body composition and/or measurements (in person with me or on your own at home). This is at no cost to you and is never required. Some patients we don't talk about the scale/weight as that method of tracking change is not appropriate for everyone.

  • Please use your portal to communicate with me. You can upload documents like food logs, supplement/medication photos, and lab work results. I highly encourage you to use the messenger feature to ask questions. It is the most secure way to communicate and transfer information and is for your privacy.

  • I have two locations (Frisco Square and Prosper). Please always double check the location of where we are meeting.

  • You can check your appointment details, schedule or reschedule by logging into your patient portal. I do ask for more than 24hrs if you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment otherwise a no show ($40) or late cancellation fee ($25) will apply.
